About Us
Born between mountain and sea
Mizuki originates in Numazu, a coastal town embraced by Mt Fuji and Suruga Bay.
Here, tea fields are wrapped in morning mist and sustained by pristine underground natural spring water flowing from the sacred mountain.
This unique environment allows the leaves to mature slowly, developing a rich umami and a smooth, lingering finish.
Mizuki is not designed to impress loudly —
it is meant to be discovered quietly.
The Spirit Behind Mizuki
After living in London for 17 years, I returned to Japan with a clear vision: to present Japanese tea not as a relic of tradition, but as a living expression of modern elegance. Influenced by global design, art, and fashion, I believe that true beauty lies in restraint — in what is left unsaid.
I was raised in Shizuoka as the daughter of a tea farmer, and I grew up surrounded by tea fields and the rhythms of tea production. Tea was never simply a drink, but part of everyday life, deeply connected to the land and the people who cultivate it.
During my years in the United Kingdom, I also became familiar with Britain’s rich tea culture, particularly the tradition of afternoon tea. Through this experience, I discovered that British tea culture and Japan’s traditional green tea culture — including the tea ceremony and the wider culture of tea gatherings — share many common values. In both cultures, tea serves as a centre for social connection, etiquette, hospitality, and a refined sense of spirit.
These shared values inspired the creation of MIZUKI. With this perspective, I established the brand to introduce Japanese tea culture to international audiences in an authentic and respectful way, delivering genuine green tea directly from Shizuoka, one of Japan’s most celebrated tea-growing regions.
Through a single cup of tea, I aim to celebrate more than flavour alone. I want it to reflect a culture that values not only nourishment, but also the importance of space, time, and conversation — moments that bring people together and enrich everyday life.
“I wanted to share Japan’s calm, timelessbeauty —not as tradition locked in time, but as aliving elegance.”
A Name of Purity and Prosperity
The kanji 瑞 (Mizuki) carries meanings of freshness, purity, and auspicious beauty and I have chosen this character as part of my Japanese name.
In ancient Japan, the land of abundance was known as Mizuho no Kuni — a place where nature and humanity lived in harmony. I would love to share that peaceful spirit with everyone.
